Statement of Coordinator of Parliamentary majority, leader of faction of Party of regions Raisa Bogatyrova
The Ukrainian political crisis that has been utterly deepened by the presidential decision to hold extraordinary parliament elections threatened with the dismantlement of values: stability, reliability of Government in solving of the social questions, and the solidity of Ukrainian society. Mainly a crisis threatened to finally destroy the trust to the Ukrainian political powers, Ukrainian political system itself both from the citizens of Ukraine and from the outer world.
Especially crucial part of this crisis fell on a conflict concerning the Constitutional Court which was unable to make a single decision in relation to constitutionalness of Decrees of President. This threatened to convert a political process in Ukraine into the deadlock of new political history. Parliamentary-governmental coalition tried to call all political forces to go return into the constitutional field and sign compromises exactly on soil of supremacy of Law at all costs. We have foreseen that the Constitutional Court decision must become the heart of compromises. It became obvious because of dismissal of two judges of Constitutional Court from their offices and because of on-going political confrontation that such decision will not be made. Then we made our choice as, foremost, European political force, where principles of responsibility before the society, competition for its trust are the basis of making political decisions for any party.
We have accepted the callenge and are going to the pre-term elections. We understand the extraordinary character of such choice perfectly, but the interests of our nation, interests of every our voter are more influential.
Today we have signed the historical consensus of our young country. Its essence is simple: pre-term elections are conducted according to the general plan which is determined by the Parliament by passing of the proper acts and decisions. All political forces are returning to the session hall. We will faciliate the restoration of Constitutional Court sessions in their full strength, and political parties will refuse the continuation of fruitless confrontation which has already utterly damaged the Ukrainian national progress. These must be just and honest, accountable for a fate of the state and nation extraordinary elections as a way to the next level of democracy.
Today we have heard the most sensible and personal speach of the leader of Party of regions Victor Yanukovich on the Independance Square before 50000 corps of our activists. Our choice is a choice of strong and a call to weak. It is position for the defence of national interests, demonstration of readiness to sacrifice the party and corporate interests and discussions for the the common good.
I think that it is the proper time to concentrate on the technological and politically-ideological work in relation to organization of upcoming pre-term elections. To make it a part of a project of strengthening of Party of regions and our convincing victory on these elections. I am sure that our step will be supported by the voters. They are also tired from the on-going conflict. I am infinitely gratefull for their high moral and civil position, for the faithful support of Party of regions. All my life from now and forever belongs only to their will, their choice and their calls. My mission and mission of all my colleagues led by the leader of Party of regions Victor Yanukovich is to do everything possible in order to make our electoral programme the scenery of tommorrow's dynamical and effective policy of Ukraine.
Party of regions showed it's European essence once again by the consensus between President of Ukraine and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich. We are remaining open, sincere and reliable partners of Ukrainian society, but we are always ready to defend our ideals in democratic ways, on the principles of supremacy of right, protecting Constitution and right of Ukrainian people to be the source of veritable power of Ukrainians.
